JRS90BAV370/24
The Sako 90 Bavarian chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum JRS90BAV370/24 combines precision engineering with powerful performance. With a 1:9.5" twist rate and a 24.5" barrel, Sako JRS90BAV370/24 rifle is meticulously crafted for accuracy and reliability in the versatile 7mm Rem Mag caliber.
Exemplifying the timeless Bavarian style, the rifle features a carefully designed wood stock with a distinctive hog-back shape and an ergonomic raised cheek piece. The Optilock system ensures a secure and clear sight picture, catering to both open sights and mounted optics.
Tailored for right-handed shooters, the JRS90BAV370/24 showcases Sako's dedication to delivering firearms that seamlessly merge aesthetics with functionality. Whether pursuing big game or engaging in long-range endeavors, this rifle upholds the exceptional quality and craftsmanship synonymous with the Sako brand.
Drawing upon 25 years of rifle-building innovation, the Sako 90 Bavarian Rifles upholds the renowned standards of quality, reliability, and accuracy that define all Sako rifles. Seamlessly blending timeless elegance with impeccable performance, the Sako 90 is purposefully crafted for high-seat hunting, characterized by rapid shooting from diverse angles.
Tailored to meet the demands of this dynamic hunting style, the 90 Bavarian features a hog-back style stock. This design incorporates an ergonomic raised cheek piece, ensuring optimal alignment between the shooter's eye and the mounted optic. Infused with the richness of rosewood, the Bavarian's stock boasts a slightly more vertical pistol grip for enhanced hand placement, complemented by a Schnabel forend to round out its aesthetic appeal.
The 90 Bavarian is equipped with a standard single set trigger, offering versatility in shooting scenarios. This single-stage trigger can be pushed forward to "set," significantly reducing the pull weight by nearly 9 ounces. This feature allows for an exceptionally light trigger pull when precision is paramount, enabling the shooter to take extra careful shots with confidence.
Receiver:
Like all of the rifles in Sako’s 90 series, the Bavarian is built around the 90 Receiver. As the heart of the rifle, these receivers are designed using a unique broaching method to minimize the contact area between the bolt and receiver. The is made possible by creating an internal surface that matches the profile of the bolt locking lugs. To achieve this, the steel of the receiver is carved by pushing multiple bolt-shaped cutting tools through the receiver to create a straight interior surface. The result of this manufacturing process is one of the smoothest operating bolts available – an essential feature when fast repeated shots are required. The 90 receiver has also been reinforced from previous models to easily withstand heavy recoil and promote superior accuracy. Torsional bending and twisting have been minimized by designing the specific shapes for critical areas, and flat receiver bedding provides better repeatable accuracy than a conventional round receiver design.
Bolt:
The innovative design and construction of the receiver is perfectly complemented by the bolt. The bolt’s ultra-short throw goes hand in hand with the smooth operation, making follow up shots nearly instantaneous. To ensure reliability extraction, the bolt features a dual plunger design similar to the one found on Sako’s sniper rifles. This bolt design is ideal for dangerous game, and was verified by cycling the bolt over 5 million times without any malfunctions.
Barrel:
All Sako 90 rifles are equipped with a cold hammer forged barrel. Like the receiver’s manufacturing process, Sako’s cold hammer forging process results in a smoother surface when compared to other rifling methods. Because the steel cannot escape when hitting against the mandril, it creates a smooth, straight, and uniform surface, enabling out-of-the-box-accuracy and completely eliminates the needed for a break-in process. These match-grade barrels also utilize an innovative muzzle-crowning process to enable the pressure to escape the muzzle evenly, thus improving accuracy. Crowns are protected from external hits by a recessed shape, and absolute geometrical uniformity of the crown is mandatory for accurate operation of the rifle.
