Nightforce SHV Rifle Scopes

Nightforce SHV Rifle Scopes

Nightforce SHV Rifle Scopes were primarily introduced as Nightforce’s entry level budget option. While designing this product, engineers geared down the ‘overbuilt’ features of the Nighforce NXS Rifle Scope series, making them more affordable but also up to Nightforce Standards in terms of performance and reliability. Therefore, you get Nighforce quality performance at an affordable price.

Available in both first and second focal plane(F1/F2), the lineup includes, the Nightforce SHV 3-10x42 Rifle Scopes, Nightforce SHV 4-14x50 Rifle Scopes, Nightforce SHV 4-14x56 Rifle Scopes and Nightforce SHV 5-20x56 Rifle Scopes. This SHV has a 30mm main tube, with an adjustment range of 90 MOA or 26 Mil-radians, and quarter MOA adjustments or .10 mrad based on reticle choice. Ten minutes of angle or 5 mil-radians of adjustment per revolution is standard.

SHV models will also come standard with Nightforce’s Zeroset feature which gives shooters a swift way return to zero. The Nighforce SHV 3-10x42 rifle scopes will come with capped turrets while the higher magnification models will come standard with an exposed elevation turret and capped windage turret.

A: F2 or, Second Focal plane Nightforce Reticles appear the same size throughout the magnification range, but changing the magnification does change the hash marks on the reticle in relation to the target. With an F1 or First focal plane scope, the reticle will grow or shrink based on magnification level, meaning that you are essentially zooming into the reticle and retaining your holdovers and hash marks in the reticle. F2 Nightforce reticles are great if you find it essential to have an easily visible and consistent reticle. A common complaint of FFP scopes is that the reticle can be hard to see at low magnification. F1 Nightforce reticles will be the preferred option if you are doing a lot of holding inside the reticle or if you are hoping to extend your effective range to longer distances.
