Frequently Asked Questions About Nightforce Competition Scopes

A: Currently, Nightforce's assembly facilities and factory headquarters are now in Orofino, Idaho, with a portion of manufacturing and glass production occurring in Japan. Models made in Japan include the SHV, NXS, Competition, and Benchrest models. In addition, the Nightforce ATACR and Beast are currently manufactured at their facility in Orofino.
A: It is a transferable Limited Lifetime Warranty that covers mechanical defects in materials and workmanship in the optical and mechanical components of the riflescope. In the event of a defect in materials or workmanship that is covered by this warranty, we will either repair the riflescope or replace it at no charge, with a comparable product at our discretion. This warranty excludes intentional or accidental damage, abuse, misuse, unauthorized modifications or repairs, and improper mounting. This warranty does not cover any consequential or incidental damages resulting from the inability to use the riflescope. Any serial number obliteration or alteration on the product will void the warranty. SHV™ models maintain waterproof integrity with their protective caps installed.
A: Mil XT, MOAR/MOAR-T, Tremor 3 Illuminated/Non-Illuminated, Mil-R, Mil-C F-1/F-2, FC-Mil, FC-DMX, Ddr-2, FC-Dm, FCR-1, Forceplex, Horus H59- Illuminated/Non-illuminated, Mil-CF2/Mil-CF2D, and Mil-R.
A: F2 or, Second Focal plane Nightforce Reticles appear the same size throughout the magnification range, but changing the magnification does change the hash marks on the reticle in relation to the target. With an F1 or First focal plane scope, the reticle will grow or shrink based on magnification level, meaning that you are essentially zooming into the reticle and retaining your holdovers and hash marks in the reticle. F2 Nightforce reticles are great if you find it essential to have an easily visible and consistent reticle. A common complaint of FFP scopes is that the reticle can be hard to see at low magnification. F1 Nightforce reticles will be the preferred option if you are doing a lot of holding inside the reticle or if you are hoping to extend your effective range to longer distances.
A: Both optics are solid contenders with outstanding track records in competitive shooting. The Nightforce competition will have different magnification ranges, slightly improved glass and a better eye box when compared to the Vortex Golden Eagle. The Nightforce Competition also offers more parallax adjustment of 13 meters to infinity.
A: The Nightforce Competition will come in slightly lighter than the Benchrest. It also includes side parallax adjustment. Between these two optics, the glass is very comparable in terms of quality and clarity. The Nightforce competition will have a fast-focus fine adjustment eyepiece, unlike the Benchrest model.
