Nightforce ATACR

The ATACR from Nightforce Optics takes a cue from its predecessor, Nightforce NXS, and raises it to the next level. Rugged, dependable and repeatable, the Nightforce ATACR scope is packed with features that deliver in mission-critical situations. In addition, the series is impressive with its High-Speed tactical turrets, which make the scopes twice as fast as compared to less precisely machined, coarser adjustments, and patented ZeroStop elevation adjustments that ensure there is an instant return to zero, no matter how many elevation adjustments the user makes.

Nightforce ATACR scopes are built on a 34mm tube, a wider field of view, adjustable illumination, and increased versatility. Their high-quality ED lenses are multi-coated to provide unprecedented image quality and superb resolution at all magnifications and offer color contrast with over 90% light transmission for extreme low-light performances. Other features comprise illuminated MOA or MIL-based ranging reticle options, up to 120 MOA /35 Mils of elevation adjustment (20% increase from NXS), Tenebraex Flip Covers, and tank-like housing.

The Nightforce ATACR scope series' are ideal for long-range shooting and advanced marksmen. Equipped to handle virtually any shooting situation, ATACR variants include the Nightforce ATACR 4-16×42 F1, ATACR 5-25×56 F1, Nightforce ATACR 1-8x24 F1, Nightforce ATACR 4-20x50 F1, Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56 F1 and Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56 F2 scope (in both first and second focal plane configurations).

A: Mil XT, MOAR/MOAR-T, Tremor 3 Illuminated/Non-Illuminated, Mil-R, Mil-C F-1/F-2, FC-Mil, FC-DMX, Ddr-2, FC-Dm, FCR-1, Forceplex, Horus H59- Illuminated/Non-illuminated, Mil-CF2/Mil-CF2D, and Mil-R.
A: F2 or, Second Focal plane Nightforce Reticles appear the same size throughout the magnification range, but changing the magnification does change the hash marks on the reticle in relation to the target. With an F1 or First focal plane scope, the reticle will grow or shrink based on magnification level, meaning that you are essentially zooming into the reticle and retaining your holdovers and hash marks in the reticle. F2 Nightforce reticles are great if you find it essential to have an easily visible and consistent reticle. A common complaint of FFP scopes is that the reticle can be hard to see at low magnification. F1 Nightforce reticles will be the preferred option if you are doing a lot of holding inside the reticle or if you are hoping to extend your effective range to longer distances.
A: The Nightforce NX8 will utilize a 30mm tube, while the Nightforce ATACR will utilize a 34mm tube. The Nightforce will generally be lighter, more compact and a bit lower in terms of cost. In addition, the ATACR will have slightly more adjustment in the turrets. The ATACR will also have a better field of view and eye box.
A: Both the Nightforce ATACR and Vortex Razor have exceptional Japanese glass and 34mm main tube diameters. The ATACR will be slightly lighter, but the weights between the models are very similar. The ATACR will have a few more reticle options as well as F2 models for those who are mainly hunting or prefer to dial for every shot. In addition, both models are incredibly durable, and great warranties cover both.
