The latest RX-5000 TBR/W firmware introduces two of the most advanced ballistic engines available today: Hornady® 4DOF™ and Precision Cut Archery® (PCA). Through the free Leupold Control App update, rifle shooters can leverage Hornady's industry-leading 4DOF ballistic solver using their specific rifle, ammunition, environmental conditions, and shot angle to receive highly accurate shooting solutions. Bowhunters benefit from Precision Cut Archery technology, which calculates true shoot-to distances based on arrow speed, arrow weight, peep height, angle, and environmental conditions for unmatched sight tape accuracy at any elevation.
Available at no additional cost to both current and new RX-5000 owners, the latest firmware update is delivered wirelessly through the Leupold Control App. Using Bluetooth connectivity, users can download and install updates directly from the app's Alerts tab without the need for cables, computers, or dealer service.
The RX-5000 offers multiple ballistic modes tailored to your shooting discipline. Rifle hunters can choose between Hornady 4DOF, CDS/TBR-W, and Line of Sight (LOS) modes. Archers can select Precision Cut Archery, TRIG angle compensation, or standard LOS ranging. Whether dialing elevation for a long-range shot or compensating for steep mountain angles, the RX-5000 provides fast, precise ballistic corrections in the field.
Bluetooth connectivity pairs the RX-5000 with the Leupold Control App, transforming your smartphone into a powerful command center. Configure ballistic profiles, update firmware, customize settings, and access advanced GPS Pinning features directly from your mobile device.
One of the RX-5000's standout features is its innovative Precision GPS Pinning technology. After ranging a target, users can create highly accurate map waypoints with precision within approximately 2 degrees. Compatible with popular mapping platforms including onX Hunt, HuntStand, DeerCast, Apple Maps, and Google Maps, GPS Pinning allows hunters to mark game locations, recovery points, glassing positions, campsites, property boundaries, and shooting targets with confidence.
Featuring class-leading 8x magnification and a bright, easy-to-read red OLED display, the RX-5000 provides exceptional visibility in virtually any lighting condition. Long Range Mode maximizes ranging capability when mounted on a tripod, while Last Target Mode helps the laser cut through rain, fog, and atmospheric moisture to provide reliable distance readings in adverse weather.
