The M16 Full Auto Style Bolt Carrier Group (BCG) is a specialized component designed to optimize the performance of your firearm. Crafted with precision and durability in mind, this BCG is built to enhance various aspects of your firearm's operation.
It is constructed from high-quality materials, with the carrier machined from 8620 Steel and the bolt manufactured from Carpenter 158. The shot-peened bolt, in particular, undergoes Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to ensure quality. The entire carrier assembly is coated with an advanced NiB (Nickel Boron) finish using the patented UCT EXO process. This unique coating offers exceptional lubricity with a low friction coefficient of .02 and impressive surface hardness ranging from 82 to 85 Rockwell C.
The BCG's design is marked by innovative features, including shrouded and forward-facing gas ports that have been re-sized to vent gas differently compared to a standard carrier. This results in a flatter and smoother energy pulse, along with cooler and cleaner operation. It also helps reduce pressurization within the upper receiver when using a suppressed barrel.
The flared boss at the tail of the carrier improves the BCG's lock position within the upper receiver, leading to increased consistency and improved accuracy. All critical dimensions are meticulously processed after heat treatment, and the gas key is hard chrome lined for exceptional wear resistance.
One of the standout features is the LANTAC CP-R360 patented domed head cam pin, machined from 17-4PH Stainless Steel and hardened to H900 condition. This cam pin minimizes wear within the upper receiver, ensuring smoother functioning.
With an 11.7oz weight (excluding the handle), this BCG increases lock time and contributes to smoother operation. Gas keys are properly staked at four points, and only grade 8 fasteners are used in assembly.
The forward porting and unique shape of the BCG assist in reducing pressurization inside the upper receiver, particularly beneficial for short barrel rifles equipped with suppressors. However, it's important to note that the E-BCG may not entirely solve this issue, as the impact can vary depending on the specific firearm and gas system. Rifles that are "over-gassed" may experience this issue to a greater extent.
