The Hornady ELD-X 25 Cal .257 128gr is a technologically advanced, all-range hunting projectile specifically engineered for the high-performance 25 Creedmoor and other modern quarter-bore cartridges. This Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding (ELD-X) bullet features the patented Heat Shield® tip, which resists aerodynamic heating to maintain a best-in-class G1 ballistic coefficient of .633 across its entire trajectory. At close range (0–400 yards), the bullet's thick jacket shank and InterLock® ring work together to ensure controlled expansion and 50–60% weight retention. For extended ranges beyond 400 yards, the tip is designed to drive backward into the lead core to initiate expansion at lower impact velocities, delivering a large mushroom and up to 90% weight retention for deep penetration. Due to its high sectional density and streamlined profile, this 128-grain bullet requires a fast-twist barrel of at least 1:7.5" to achieve proper stabilization.
