Central to the GFR's performance is the Reliability Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group (BCG). This BCG features a properly torqued and staked, chrome-lined gas key, ensuring maximum durability and superior gas sealing. The cam pin is precisely machined, and the carrier's extended upper rails deliver significantly improved stability and feeding reliability during operation.

The Reliability Enhanced BCG is built for extreme performance. The bolt itself is crafted from Carpenter 158+ Steel, a material known for its strength, consistency, and low impurity content. Through a specialized forging process, similar to the one used in Geissele’s upper and lower receivers, the bolt’s grain structure is optimized for unmatched durability, offering five times the lifespan of a mil-spec bolt. To further enhance the BCG’s performance, each component—gas key, cam pin, and bolt—is coated with Geissele's exclusive Nanoweapon DSL (Durable Solid Lubricant), which resists corrosion, wear, and abrasion. The Geissele Freedom Rifle’s upper and lower receivers are engineered for maximum performance and durability. The upper receiver is equipped with heat-treated steel cam races that are riveted in place, providing steel-on-steel contact with the cam pin during cycling. The magwell has been aggressively flared and optimized to work seamlessly with Geissele’s dedicated 6MM ARC magazines. For improved ergonomics and handling, every GFR is equipped with a reduced-angle Geissele Grip, offering a more modern, natural primary point of contact.

The barrel of the Geissele Freedom Rifle is precision machined and cold hammer forged from the highest-quality steel, ensuring exceptional accuracy and long-term durability. Each barrel undergoes rigorous High-Pressure Testing (HPT) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to guarantee reliability and optimal performance. To further enhance durability, the GFR features the exclusive Anti-Strike Super Compact Block. Developed specifically for the USG (U.S. Government), this gas block offers additional clearance between the gas block and rail, preventing strikes that could cause premature damage during impacts.
