This 16" barrel is cold hammer forged into Geissele's Heavy Profile contour, chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 1:7 twist. That added mass down the barrel isn't just for looks — it resists heat and barrel whip better than a lighter taper under sustained firing, which matters more on a mid-length gas system running a lot of rounds in a short window. A .750" gas journal diameter feeds a Geissele-length gas tube, included with the barrel, so alignment and gas timing are dialed in from the start.

Chrome moly vanadium steel forms the base material, chrome-lined bore included, backed by a manganese phosphate exterior for corrosion resistance. Every CHF barrel at this weight and profile goes through High Pressure Testing and Magnetic Particle Inspection before it ships — the same quality control applied across Geissele's entire barrel line, heavy profile or not.
