Barrett’s MRAD Single Mission Rifle (SMR) offers the same exceptional long-range performance as the standard Barrett MRAD SMR Rifle but in a more streamlined, cost-effective package. The key differences between the SMR and MRAD are a fixed buttstock and a rifle confined to a single caliber, whereas the MRAD features a folding stock and multi-caliber versatility. The SMR’s simplified design makes it slimmer and lighter, shedding nearly 2.5 pounds and reducing its overall length by 1 inch.
Despite these modifications, the SMR maintains 90% of the MRAD’s components and shares the same impressive .75 MOA accuracy guarantee. Both rifles are highly customizable, with a flattop Picatinny rail for mounting optics and ample space for clip-on night vision or thermal devices. The SMR’s fixed stock is fully adjustable for cheek height, and users can install additional spacers to achieve the ideal length-of-pull, ensuring maximum comfort and adaptability for different shooting preferences.
