The Armalite AR-31 Rifles draws heavily from the accuracy and design of the ArmaLite AR-30A1 Rifles series. The former is essentially a short-action rifle that is based on the long-action AR-30A1 rifle. It brings on board three distinctive attributes and they are: short action version, chambered in .308 Winchester and compatibility with AR-10B double stack magazines. The American small arms engineering company launched the Armalite AR-31 at the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers Expo in October 2013. The AR-31 follows the ArmaLite AR-30A1 (2012) which in turn is preceded by the Armalite AR-30 lineup (2000).
