Amazing scope! Compact, and A BIT heavy, but it's well built and a perfect fit for a 300 BLK pistol or SBR. Ideal for hunting applications, especially in the woods. It was a toss up between the TSP4 and TSP3. I made the right call. Makes for the PERFECT tree stand gun. Fast acquisition. Reliable performance. Great reticle. At the clearance price it's a STEAL! The 4x for LESS than the normal price of the 1x Vortex Spitfire. Love the Spitfire though, and at clearance prices, it's hard to beat if a 1x is on the docket I love Athlon products. Not a fan boy. They just generally have higher quality and more bang (fearures) for less buck than Vortex. Reminds me of the early Vortex vs Leupold "arms race" some 20 years back where Vortex came in with higher quality and far lower prices to compete directly with the most trusted name in optics (who had grown too complacent). Now Athlon is following the same model to cut into Vortex's market share. If you haven't tried Athlon, you'll be pleasantly surprised. From what i gather, Neos competes with Crossfire. Best to leave both alone. Argos and Talos compete with Diamondback. HP/ Tactical and regular Diamondback. Midas/Ares with Viper's various lines. Cronos with Razor. Both have things in between to compete and to complement various price points and quality. I've always found Athlon to ourperform my Vortex scopes at similar prices (ok Athlon is 10-30% less)
